The process engineer will provide comprehensive technical support to the production and maintenance teams of the Chlorate Plant by leveraging continuous improvement methodologies. The primary goal is to ensure that targets related to optimized specific consumption, enhanced production efficiency, reduced operational costs, and high standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance are achieved. Key responsibilities include proactively identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement in plant operations, regularly tracking and analyzing process parameters to ensure optimal functioning, assisting in the management of Process Safety Management (PSM) to meet safety regulations, and overseeing capital projects to drive plant improvements and upgrades.

Follow and ensure compliance with interlock directive from Technology Group
Follow and ensure compliance with Minimum Checklist from Technology Group
Monitor process parameters and identify improvement opportunities/cost reduction
Monitor process parameters to ensure safety operation
Bridge between the plant and the technology group
Participate in PSM and Technology meetings
Provide HSE support
Provide technical support for the production department
Provide technical support for the maintenance department
Create process reports
Follow medium/long term consumptions and ensure technical evaluation on operation
Provide support on technical calculations (eg. Pumps)
Be responsible for interlocks and interlocks tests
Ensure process inspections are completed during shutdowns according to the plan
Support/Manage/Lead MOC (Management of changes)
Lead Root Cause Investigations
Support/Lead Capital projects
Set the example for PSM and support Building Blocks
Participate in Audits (ISO, PSM, HSE, others)
Follow up on lab and process analyses
Act as focal point for cellbox management
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
1 or more years of experience working in chemical industry; 3 or more years of experience is preferred
Project management experience
PSM exposure/experience
Engineering knowledge
Microsoft Office proficiency
Strong communication skills
Statistical Process Control experience preferred
PHA-Pro or other PHA software experience preferred
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles preferred
Quality management experience preferred
