Our sulfur products are used as basic building blocks or processing aids in various applications and industrial processes.

Sulfur based products like carbon disulfide (CS2), sodium hydrosulfide (NaSH), sulfur chlorides (SCl2), sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and thiocyanate (RSCN) are used in the production of textiles, rubbers, mining reagents, agriculture fertilizers and fungicides, as well as solutions for heavy metal removal, pulp and paper, construction materials, and the cosmetics industry.

Carbon Disulfide

Carbon Disulfide (CS₂) is a colorless, dense, highly refractive, volatile, flammable and toxic liquid. CS₂ plays a vital role in many of today's industrial processes.

Sodium Hydrosulfide (NaSH)

Sodium Hydrosulfide (NaSH) is an economical form of reactive sulfur that is typically a light-yellow colored solution. Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), a toxic gas, is evolved upon contact of NaSH with acids. NaSH is mildly corrosive to carbon steel and cast iron. Stainless steels are very resistant to corrosion. Copper and its alloys, aluminum and zinc are rapidly attacked. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) storage systems are to be avoided.

Sulfuric acid

Nouryon markets much of its sulfuric acid into the pulp and paper industry, often for use in chlorine dioxide generation (the high quality of our product is important in this application). Other applications where the quality is important is battery production. Nouryon sulfuric acid is also used in many other chemical processes and in various wastewater and pH control applications.

Sodium Thiocyanate

Thiocyanates can be used in different applications in the textile and fibre industry, in agriculture, in metal and steel industry and in construction. In a number of applications sodium thiocyanate can be used as de-icing fluids for airplanes to increase the melting performance of the liquid and increasing passenger safety in the skies, as well as for herbicides and fungicides.
