Nouryon today announced it has commenced operations at its new Integrated Manufacturing Model site in Ribas do Rio Pardo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, which includes the production of hydrogen peroxide, sodium chlorate, and chlorine dioxide.

Nouryon, a global leader in specialty chemicals, recently celebrated the opening of its Agricultural Application Development Center in Itupeva, Brazil. The new center is focused on research and development of sustainable formulations to meet the increasing agricultural input demand throughout South America. This modern center enhances the customer experience and hosts both virtual and onsite events, workshops, and trainings.

Announcing today that our nine manufacturing sites in Brazil are now powered with electricity solely from renewable energy sources, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and transition to a low-carbon economy. We have 60 manufacturing sites around the world with nine in Brazil, which represent 25 percent of the Company’s total electricity usage. This achievement is part of the Company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.

Nouryon today announced a major milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for a new dedicated home and personal care customer experience and innovation center in Itupeva, Brazil.

A 15-year agreement with Suzano, a world leading eucalyptus pulp producer. Under the long-term agreement, Nouryon will commission its sustainable Integrated Manufacturing Model for the new Suzano eucalyptus pulp mill in the municipality of Ribas do Rio Pardo, located in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.

Nouryon has completed a project to more than double capacity for organic peroxides at its plant in Itupeva, Brazil. The expansion will add capacity for products including methyl ethyl ketone peroxides (MEKP) as well as dibenzoyl peroxide (BPO) pastes and waxes.

Nouryon has commissioned its latest Integrated Manufacturing Model to support the expansion of the Bracell pulp mill in Lençóis Paulista, Brazil.

Nouryon has signed a long-term agreement with Arauco to supply essential sodium chlorate and chlorine dioxide solutions for Arauco’s new $4.6 billion pulp mill in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. As part of the agreement, Nouryon will construct fully integrated sodium chlorate and chlorine dioxide manufacturing facilities in Mato Grosso do Sul, leveraging its technology and integrated manufacturing model expertise to enhance its leading market positions in South America, particularly Brazil, as a key supplier for the pulp and paper industry. Nouryon will own and operate the sodium chlorate facility – which will increase its industry-leading South America capacity in Brazil by 20% and globally by almost 10% - and engineer, construct and operate the Arauco chlorine dioxide plant. Pulp mill production is scheduled to start in late 2027.
