Biocides for microbial control
Biocides for microbial control
Biocides are essential to deactivate or destroy viruses
Our exceptional product application know-how is based on decades of expertise in developing fatty-amine base biocides, which allows us to provide leading manufacturers of disinfectant products for home care and I&I with proven effective biocides against bacteria, including mycobacteria, fungi and enveloped viruses.
Viruses can infect all types of life forms: humans, animals, plants and microorganisms. They fall into two main groups based on their structure: enveloped and non-enveloped.
Enveloped viruses, such as coronavirus, have a lipid envelope which is relatively sensitive to desiccation, heat and detergents. It’s easier to inactivate these viruses using biocidal active substances than it is with non-enveloped viruses.
The biocidal active substances in our products are effective against enveloped viruses. They are ideal for surface disinfection (e.g., in food/feed), as well as industrial and institutional applications:
Tests have demonstrated the effectiveness of our active biocides against enveloped viruses.
Test results on Triameen Y12D, Arquad MCB-50 and Arquad 2.10-50 against coronavirus and influenza virus A/H1N1/X -179A (Swine Flu, Mexican Flu) – are available per request.
Customers with formulations containing our products must test it to comply with local regulations. In case a (biocides) registration scheme is in place, the end-product might need (national) approval before it can be launched to the local market.
