Nouryon’s site leadership at its Columbus, MS, US site, was recently recognized as a Forward Together Partner at an event hosted by the Lowndes County Board of Supervisors and the National Association of Counties (NACo).

This recognition is in conjunction with the nationwide County Government Appreciation Month with the theme of “Forward Together.” The Lowndes County Board of Supervisors recognized several partner companies during the ceremony for enhancing the quality of life of employees and families in Lowndes County and surrounding communities.

James Howard, Nouryon Columbus Site Director, was presented with a Resolution of the Board of Supervisors. This recognition is sponsored by the National Association of Counties (NACo) and highlights the positive impact Nouryon has in the community.

“It is an honor for Nouryon’s Columbus, MS, US site to be recognized as a ‘Forward Together’ partner by the Lowndes County Board of Supervisors and NACo”, said James Howard, Site Director, Columbus facility. “This Resolution by Lowndes County recognizes our commitment to making a positive impact and reflects our dedication to moving forward together with our partners for the betterment of the community.” 

The Nouryon Columbus, MS, US site has a rich history, originally established in 1954 as Oldbury Chemical. In the early 1990s, Akzo Nobel acquired the site, and in 2018, it was relaunched under the name Nouryon, marking a new chapter in its legacy. The Columbus site produces sodium chlorate and hydrogen peroxide used in applications including pulp bleaching for the pulp and paper industry.
