Nouryon recognized with fourteen awards for safety performance, community engagement, environmental stewardship, and industry leadership in Texas

Nouryon has been recognized with fourteen prestigious awards from the Texas Chemical Council (TCC) and the Texas Chemistry Alliance (TCA) for outstanding achievements in safety performance, community engagement, environmental stewardship, and industry leadership in 2023.

“We are immensely proud of our teams in Texas for their industry-leading safety performance and dedication to continuous improvement,” said Paresh Bhakta, Senior Vice President and Chief Integrated Supply Chain Officer at Nouryon. “These awards reaffirm our commitment to enhancing safety protocols, supporting community engagement, and fostering a culture of sustainability.”

Nouryon award recognitions include:

  • Caring for Texas Award (Nouryon sites: Fort Worth, La Porte)
    The Caring for Texas Award, established in 1998, commends member facilities for their ongoing improvements in community involvement, emergency response, and sustainability. A panel of industry leaders and community representatives selects the recipients based on documented metrics from 2023.
  • Excellence in Caring for Texas Award (Nouryon site: Houston)
    This award recognizes facilities that have demonstrated outstanding performance in the Caring for Texas program.
  • Sustained Excellence in Caring for Texas Award (Nouryon site: Pasadena) 
    This award acknowledges facilities that have received the Excellence in Caring for Texas award for the last three years, showcasing continual commitment to community and environmental stewardship.
  • Zero Incident Award (Nouryon sites: Fort Worth, Houston, La Porte, Pasadena) 
    This award honors facilities with zero Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable injuries or illnesses for employees and contractors in 2023.
  • Occupational Safety Distinguished Service Award (Nouryon sites: Fort Worth, Houston, Pasadena) 
    This award is presented to facilities that have attended at least three quarterly Occupational Safety Committee or Subcommittee meetings during the year and have successfully reduced their injury and illness incident rate in 2023 compared to the previous three years.
  • Sam Mannan Award for Zero Process Safety Incidents (Nouryon sites: Fort Worth, Houston) 
    Named in honor of Dr. Sam Mannan, the founding Director of the Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center at Texas A&M University, this award recognizes facilities that have achieved zero Tier 1 or Tier 2 process safety incidents in 2023, exemplifying excellence in process safety management.
  • Texas A&M Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center Award for Distinguished Process Safety Initiative (Nouryon site: Forth Worth)
    Presented by the Texas A&M’s Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center, this award recognizes one facility per grouping category that has achieved zero incidents in 2023 and demonstrated exemplary process safety initiatives. Winners were selected based on information provided through a submitted essay.
