Featuring Bermocoll® EHM MAX
A premium performing rheology modifier for architectural paints at ECS 2025
Nouryon today announced that it will feature Bermocoll® EHM MAX, a hydrophobically modified cellulose ether at the European Coatings Show in Nuremberg, Germany, from March 25-27, 2025. This innovative product sets new standards in quality and cost-effectiveness for rheology modifiers in architectural paints, offering superior performance and versatility for both interior and exterior applications.
Consumers are increasingly demanding high-quality paints that are easy to apply and cost effective. Bermocoll® EHM MAX meets this stringent requirement by offering paint manufacturers a rheology modifier that is up to 10% more efficient than comparable products, while also improving application properties and the overall quality of the finished coating.

Bermocoll® EHM MAX is compatible with a variety of binder types including acrylic, vinyl acrylic, styrene acrylic, and vinyl acetate ethylene, and works seamlessly with a wide range of functional additives. This ensures ease of incorporation into paint formulas, superior color acceptance, and strong color development. The product enables precise, balanced rheological profiles that enhance sag resistance, flow, and leveling properties, resulting in improved coverage, hiding, and quick turnarounds whether applied by brush, roller, or spray. Additionally, Bermocoll® EHM MAX significantly reduces spatter over standard cellulose ether types, minimizing the need for reworking and touch-ups.

- For colorants, Nouryon offers highly efficient wetting and dispersing agents marketed under the Amadol® and Berol® product tradenames that reduce colorant production time and save on energy costs. These additives provide superior compatibility, strong color acceptance, and minimal viscosity loss on tinting.
- Nouryon’s stabilizers for latex resins include non-ionic, anionic, and cationic types that support high productivity with consistent control of polymer particle size, emulsion stability, and overall quality.
