Hydrogen Peroxide is a powerful yet environmentally friendly oxidizing agent that decomposes into oxygen and water. It is an essential ingredient in multiple applications, from the deepest mines to outer space.

Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is used for bleaching of both mechanical and chemical pulps, supporting elemental chlorine free (ECF) bleaching, and as the main product in totally chlorine free (TCF) bleaching methods. Hydrogen Peroxide is also used in other industries as a specialty oxidant. Other applications include mining, batteries, water treatment, cellulosic textiles, food packaging, and cleaning.

From production facilities in Norway, Sweden, Brazil and the USA, we offer our customers stabilized aqueous hydrogen peroxide solutions under the brand name Eka® HP. As a bulk supplier, we offer mainly concentrations of 35%, 50%, 59% and 70% delivered in ISO containers, railcars and tanker trucks. Product grades, concentrations, and delivery alternatives vary by market.

We offer Energy-Efficient and Cost-Effective Hydrogen Peroxide

The most common method today for producing Hydrogen Peroxide is the anthraquinone auto-oxidation process. An anthraquinone solution continuously circulates in a closed loop and is the carrier for the controlled reaction between hydrogen and oxygen. Thanks to our patented fixed-bed catalyst, we have improved the hydrogenation process, and avoid the need for a complicated filtration process. We achieve highly efficient use of raw materials and energy from this easy-to-operate process.

With the objective of reducing carbon footprint we have focused on reducing energy requirements for our production. Wherever possible, our manufacturing facilities obtain their energy from renewable sources. Additionally, in-place environmental and control systems minimize emissions to the atmosphere and water.

Eka® HP PuroxideTM -a circular way to produce hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is produced from hydrogen gas (H2) and oxygen (O2). Traditionally, hydrogen gas is produced using fossil natural gas in a steam reformer. In contrast, Puroxide utilizes only fossil-free hydrogen gas.

Puroxide production model

Sodium chlorate production: salt and water together with fossil-free electricity are used as inputs.

Puroxide hydrogen peroxide production: fossil-free hydrogen gas from sodium chlorate production together with oxygen from air are used as raw materials which gives a carbon footprint close to zero.

Deliveries: are made by train, or truck with HVO100 fuel when possible.
