About the job

 

In the role, you will have the opportunity to interact closely with departments like technology, management, or the carbon strategy group. This is an important role in decarbonization and sustainability, with both financial and business impacts.

 

In your future role as Technical Policy Advisor Decarbonization, you will

 

  • Perform technical analysis and review of implementation regulations at the site process level.
  • Provide guidance to key stakeholders regarding the implications of ETS2 and CBAM implementation within the broader framework of European climate policy, while also proactively identifying and addressing upcoming climate law-related policy changes to mitigate potential financial impact.
  • Responsible for performing internal audits and be involved in the compliance energy audits for EMEA sites supporting HSE&S managers.
  • Establish a network among other members of CEFIC, IKEM and the European Commission in order to provide feedback on policy initiatives and propose favorable outcomes for Nouryon
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams for new product introductions.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, technology, health and safety, marketing, analytical, and supply chain functions.

 

 We believe you bring

 

  • A relevant bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering or environmental sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with chemical or industrial processes and/or research.
  • In-depth understanding of European climate policies, including the EU ETS, CBAM, state aid directives, and other relevant regulations. Ability to network with relevant organizations such as CEFIC, IKEM, and the European Commission will be considered as an advantage.
  • Experience in technical and financial analysis, particularly related to industrial emissions, energy, and decarbonization strategies.
  • Knowledge of subsidies and funding opportunities for decarbonization initiatives, such as the European Innovation Fund, Social Climate Fund, and Modernization Fund.
