About the job

 

The role of an Automation Engineer encompasses a variety of critical responsibilities focused on achieving specific operational objectives and guaranteeing the integrity and security of site OT (Operational Technology) systems. This entails utilizing expertise in process control systems and actively contributing to cybersecurity measures. Additionally, your insights and data analysis will play a crucial role in driving new business cases through process modifications and operational enhancements.

 

In your future role as Automation-Engineer

Safety:

  • Actively apply the Stop Principle and engage in constructive safety dialogue.
  • Comply with safety, legal, and corporate rules and regulations.
  • Lead improvements and changes through regular MOC processes and project implementation.

Maintenance, Engineering and Projects at Site:

  • Conduct first line maintenance on the process control system and provide guidance to operations.
  • Advise, steer, and participate in process alarm management and tuning.
  • Perform software programming of small projects and participate in risk analysis HAZOP and FMECA.
  • Ensure reliability and availability of installations through system maintenance and back-up management.
  • Provide technical discipline support for maintenance and project/TA teams.
  • Provides input and data to support new business cases based on process modifications and/or modifications of existing operation.

 

Functional Excellence:

  • Execute applicable guidelines, processes, methodologies, and working methods.
  • Utilize functional knowledge to improve equipment uptime and decrease maintenance costs.

 

Maintenance, Engineering and Projects at Site:

  • Advise, steer and participate in the process alarm management and tuning teams and execute software programming actions.
  • Secure reliability and availability of installation through execution system maintenance and manage execution of back-ups.
  • Identify opportunities and make suggestions for improvement in reliability or maintainability of (key) process equipment, using appropriate maintenance metrics and the analysis of recorded history and failure mechanisms.
  • Is pro-active in diagnosing & solving process and system problems at the site.
  • Perform and/or participate in root cause analysis, criticality and Failure mode Effect & Criticality analysis and utilize predictive maintenance techniques to advise on appropriate maintenance planning.
  • Actively contributes to documenting standardized work packages and risk assessments.
  • Provides input and data to support new business cases based on process modifications and/or modifications of existing operation.

 

We believe you bring

 

  • HBO / BSc level.
  • 5+ years’ experience in maintenance and/or process operations with proven affinity to process automation/control.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Dutch is a must, good English.
  • Good understanding of process and process requirements.
  • Basic understanding of E&I (MBO+ level).
  • Project Experience (Change Management): Preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing and implementing changes to an Emerson DeltaV DCS system.
