About the job 

As an Operational Excellence Manager, you will be responsible for the deployment and execution of Operational Excellence activities within Integrated Supply Chain Operations (ISC), working “hands-on”, with a key focus on our manufacturing sites in Sweden. This role is crucial in establishing and sustaining a long-term culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement within the ISC organization. You will lead critical growth and improvement projects at sites, sometimes for the entire region, and occasionally in various functions. You will be part of the European team of 13 colleagues where we support each other and discuss ways to move forward. We embrace the value of a warm and inclusive work environment.  

 

In your future role as operational excellence manager, you will

 

  • Lead and/or project manage Lean 6 Sigma and other improvement projects to improve operational performance. 
  • Promote the use of lean tools to identify and eliminate waste and to improve workplace organization.
  • Support and coach site teams and other functional teams to improve performance in production and working methods.
  • Identify performance losses/gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand operational improvement opportunities.
  • Coach, train, and guide sites on the Nouryon standard work processes (NLMS) and systems.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of the operational excellence program and initiatives, providing visibility of the program across the organization.
  • Serve as the technical expert on the use and training of Lean Six Sigma (L6S) and the Nouryon ISC processes, tools, and systems.

 

Location: Gothenburg, with travel to other sites (mainly in Sweden) up to approximately 30% of your time.


We believe you bring

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience of operational (manufacturing, supply chain) knowledge.
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement and Lean methodologies.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.

 

Great if you have

 

  • Swedish communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Certification within Lean Six Sigma (L6S).
  • Experience from working in Process industry/Chemical industry

 

You are a person who are passionate about continuous improvement and possess strong collaboration skills and act with integrity and have confidence in your expertise, since you need to  get buy-in across all levels in the organization and lead through others. You can also deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment, are metric-oriented with an analytical mind set and with  the ability to comprehend broad sets of data to drive impactful results.
