Business Planning Manager - MEA

In your future role as Business Planning Manager, you will

The Business Planning Manager is responsible for creating and operating the Business Planning process in the Middle East and Africa. This is a new role in our Business Planning team that will work with local Commercial, Customer Service, and Logistics teams to develop and implement supply chain strategies for Nouryon's competitive advantage.

The business planning process will consist of the 5-year strategy, Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for the 4–24-month horizon, and the short term Integrated Tactical Planning (ITP) for the 0-13 week horizon. The role will collaborate with finance to measure the plans in terms of Budgets, Latest views (LV), and 3 month rolling forecast (3MF) against our Strategy.

The business planning function will help with the 5-year business plan. This role will ensure the coordination and accuracy of market demand forecasts and manufacturing capacities (including site operations, vendors, logistics, and toll manufacturers). Supports the Senior Vice President of Emerging Markets in the execution of annual strategies.

  • The role involves coordinating and harmonizing the Marketing, R&D, Sales, ISC, and Finance calendars, processes, and tools
  • Contributing to the development of Supply and Demand Planning strategies, capabilities and processes to enhance integration and performance
  • Creating, deploying, implementing, following up and optimizing consistent processes (product/project, demand, supply, integrated reconciliation, and management reviews), systems and program, across all business and functions in line with strategy.
  • Business Planning leads the creation and execution of an Integrated Plan that makes IBP the main process used by the leadership team to align, integrate and synchronize the plans for the business
  • Integrate strategic planning and budgeting cycle.  Connect the financial plan (Budget), the financial forecast (RF/ LE), sales and marketing plans, and operations plans; linking strategic, operational and financial goals.
  • Lead the 5 Year Strategy annual program, IBP monthly program, and DSR weekly program for MEA
  • Ensure effective, efficient reporting and analysis on Business Planning performance for stakeholders
  • Leads cross functional process improvement to achieve excellence, via process assessment tools and continuous improvement plan
  • Accountable to deliver on KPIs for the function – Forecast Accuracy, Days Inventory Outstanding, and Service
  • Supports the effectiveness of the future organization by coaching and developing the planning organization to create future leaders.

The position is based in our new modern office and application lab in the Dubai Science Park but requires occasional travel. Approximately 10-15% of you working time will be for regional & global travel.

We believe you bring

  • BA or BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Good understanding of the Commercial and/or Integrated Supply Chain functions
  • Proven track record in team leadership
  • Experienced implementing and operating S&OP and/or IBP
  • Working knowledge of ERP, systems and processes
  • Demonstrated Leadership, Influencing and Change Management skills
  • High level Business acumen
  • Cultural awareness (working across-country/ function)
  • Pro-active initiating attitude: self-assured and capable of convincing people based on a shared vision.
  • Task focused but sensitive to risks and changes in direction based on new insights.
  • Capable of making deep-dive analyses while maintaining high-level overview.
  • Team builder with good social and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communicator in English

 

Great if you have

  • MS degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, or other relevant discipline
  • Experience from Business Warehouse (or equivalent data warehouse) or Arkieva (or equivalent advanced planning software)
  • Experience from ASCM CPIM/CSCP or IBF Demand Planning
  • The ability to leverage emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and advanced analytics to optimize supply chain processes.
  • Project management experience as a project lead in small or medium sized projects.
  • Solid understanding of main functional end-2-end processes e.g. Sales Process, Order to Cash, Forecast to Plan
  • Highly skilled in L6S methodologies and tools, process development and change management experience

a person who can analyze well, understand supply chain and business processes, and finish projects independently and proactively. You also communicate well and interact with stakeholders at different levels.

The job holder must follow their budget and delegation of authority. This covers external spending, hours and vacation planning, and decisions on inventory policies.
