Operator

We are looking for a Process Operator who will be responsible for operating processes and equipment in the plant according to procedures in place and taking ownership over integrity of plant assets.

In your future role as an Operator you will  

  • Ensure compliance in all aspects of safety with all applicable regulations (Nouryon and regulatory)
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement efforts in Augusta
  • Actively participate in BBS program in Augusta
  • Conduct 5S activities for the production area
  • Conduct autonomous maintenance in production area (including motor lubrication, boiler operations, failure identification, etc.)
  • Produce finished products (including blended products) using the documented operating procedures in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner
  • Analyze in-process, finished product, and raw materials using documented lab procedures
  • Receive raw materials in accordance with documented work procedures and schedule delivery of bulk raw material as ordered by the Plant Scheduler and Planner
  • Ensure site security outside of regular business hours (including weekends and holidays)
  • Qualified to operate all manufacturing processes of the Augusta site
  • Log and account for production, quality data, and losses
  • Keeps workplace and tools in order and accessible
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or the Site Manager

 

We believe you bring

  • High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years post-secondary/military education (technical area preferred); or five (5) or more years’ experience in the Chemical Industry preferred. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and respond to technical data associated with the plant operation. 
  • Working knowledge of SAP/R/3, Delta V
  • Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, decimals, and percentages and to apply the results to plant operations. Must be able to work with metric system measurements and conversions. 
  • Ability to solve practical and operational problems in the plant environment is crucial. 
  • Ability to interpret sample results and take appropriate responsive actions.
