About the job:

This role will have oversight on all external and internal communications across our global, $800 MM Agriculture & Food business line.

 

In your future role as Global Communications Manager- Agriculture & Food, you will:

 

  • Build and execute a digital, communications & PR plan to support the team’s journey towards fulfilling our value proposition with our global key accounts and regional, primary target customers.

  • Identify and mannage key projects to eliminate hurdles in executing on our value proposition.

  • Manage projects which target critical issues in our way to delivering our value proposition (including but not limited to):

  • Internal training so that our teams have consistent base knowledge of:

    • our sales and account planning processes

    • market knowledge across crop protection, crop nutrition, food and feed segments

    • base knowledge of our core technologies & services

  • Standardizing customer communications so that we have the same look / feel every touch, every time

  • Identifying process improvements needed to ensure we are delivering on the value proposition across commercial operations

  • Works with commercial stakeholders to map out our external communication / PR plan to portray Nouryon as a global leader in formulation, crop nutrition & food/feed additives technologies

  • Tell the “Agriculture & Food Business Line story” internally – put processes in place and help develop the culture where our teams are proficient in positioning and frequently tell our story.

  • Actively scores our performance in delivering the value proposition with our global and regional target accounts, tracking our performance over time as part of our account planning process.

  • Works with R&D and project managers to develop the messaging and external tools for launches of our innovation pipeline.  Ensures adequate customer and influencer feedback is incorporated into planning.

  • Coordinates all trade shows and major customer events across the Agriculture & Food business line.

  • Reviews and approves all internal/external messaging to ensure continuity with our value proposition and brand standards.

  • Main deliverables:

    • Strong focus on the “how” (convey trust and humility, be transparent in all you do)

    • Proactively work with senior leadership to put plans in place to address critical issues getting in our way of delivering on our value proposition

    • Communication / PR calendar for events and internal / external stories

    • Benchmarks progress on delivering our value proposition and summarizes customer feedback on Nouryon performance against continuous improvement

 

We believe you bring:

  • Ability to understand the chemistries we sell and the markets we participate in

  • Working experience in the agricultural markets or an agricultural background essential.  Work in ag chemicals strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 10-20 years relevant experience in BTB marketing and communications /PR

  • Undergrad degree in science, engineering or business required or relevant work experience. MBA preferred.

  • Good analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and strategic thinking - must be able to challenge internally with a high degree of political acumen.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Especially adept at translating customer feedback into improvement insights and recommendations on how to shift our tactics to improve on delivering our value proposition.

  • Ability to work in multicultural and/or multi-disciplinary teams, networking within and outside Nouryon
