 About the job:

 

Nouryon is looking for an experienced sales manager to lead the sales team in the large, and diverse region of North America. This team positions and sells products of the Expancel and Polysulfides portfolio to customers in USA and Canada.  

 

In your future role as Regional Sales Manager-Engineered Polymers, you will:

 

  • Leads and coaches the sales team in:
    • delivering monthly sales results in line with forecast and product line growth mandate.
    • understanding and assessing customers’ needs, business objectives, strategies
  • Drive an opportunity pipeline that reflects the strategic growth mandate for the product lines.
    • Manage volume, net sales, and margins (CM) of the region
    • Build, develop, and motivate the regional sales team to ensure individual success and development, thus managing all people-related responsibilities (HR and development)
    • Assure account interactions and new sales opportunities are accurately updated in CRM from a scope, timing and revenue perspective.
  • Assure that market information (trends, competitor behaviors, etc.) collected by the sales team is reported to the global marketing team
    • Acts as a focal point for regional customer service and logistics organizations to maintain required service levels.
    • Collaborates with the Global Marketing Director and Technical Business Development Manager on important new business opportunities and the technical support needed to bring them to fruition.
    • Establishes and builds senior-level relationships with key decision-makers, both internally and externally
    • Serves as a lead contracts negotiator on commercial terms for sales of Expancel and Polysulfides products in N America
    • Establishes a professional, detailed business plan for executing business strategies in coordination with global marketing, other regional sales teams and where applicable with other business lines resources required for implementation
  • Lead account planning and sales forecasting processes
  • Drive commercial excellence and continuous improvement
  • Take strategic and tactical decisions on sales channels and account allocation
  • Own contract management and handle possible IP questions for the team
    • Ensures management information system/governance/authorization structure is in place and inform

 

We believe you bring:

 

  • Master´s Degree or equivalent in business administration, chemistry or material science.
  • More than 3 years of sales management experience from B2B in the chemical industry.
  • More than 10 years of sales experience in a B2B chemical environment with a proven track record of success
  • Strategic insight and business understanding, ability to comprehend a complex, multi-faceted market and competition landscape
  • Strong ability in building and manage relationships with various stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage price, negotiate and close deals including multi-level contact selling, and manage contracts
  • Skilled in identifying and validating business opportunities by understanding customer needs and translating them into a value proposition
  • Good understanding of supply chain and internal service processes
  • Ability and drive to build, develop, and lead a team, managing its performance and coaching for results.
  • Collaborative cross-functional team player
  • Excellent communication skills, such as probing, listening, and presenting
  • English language skills at native/proficiency level.
  • Embodies passion, the ambition to drive for results, discipline, and optimism, has an open mindset and is self-confident and empathic in his/her demeanor.

 

Good to know:
 

  • This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Vice President of Engineered Polymers.
  • This is a remote position that will require travel.
