Maintenance Mechanic

Nouryon Fort Worth site is a global supplier of sodium sulfonate surfactants used predominately in the agriculture, cleaning, and construction industries. The surfactants improve the wetting, dispersant, hydrotropic and anti-caking properties to enhance the efficiency of our customers’ products. The Fort Worth team manufacturers over 80 products, in powder and liquid form, that are recognized around the world for their excellent performance, quality and consistency. 

 

About the job

Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames,

piping systems, tanks and pressure vessels, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and

engineering requirements. Weld metal parts, using electric, gas arc, or other welding equipment as

specified by layout, welding diagram, or work order. Examines weld for bead size and other

specifications. Repairs broken or cracked metal objects, fills holes, and builds up metal parts. May chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter. General repairs to plant equipment. 

 

In your future role as a Maintenance Mechanic you will:

 

 

  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Lays out, positions and secures parts and assemblies according to specification.
  • Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, are, or other welding equipment.
  • Cuts work piece, using powered saws, grinders, gas torch, carbon arc, plasma torch and other cutting tools.
  • Installs and repairs other plant equipment.
  • Repair to piping systems, including gasket and fitting replacement.
  • Fabricate and repair of plant equipment. 

 

We believe you bring

 

 

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Welder 6G Certification mandatory
  • At least five years of experience in all phases of welding, including welding of various shapes in various positions.
  • Experience working with a variety of materials required.
  • The ability to read design drawings.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other structures.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
  • Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
  • Using mathematics to solve problems.
  • The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
