PQC Manager

The PQC Manager manages activities of the Process and Quality Control departments. These activities include process engineering with plant / customer technical services, automation, engineering, and quality control / analytical support needs of the plant. The responsibility area includes the QC lab, process engineering group and PSM for the site. This is a key member of the site leadership team.

In your future role as PQC Manager you will 

• Coordinate Process Safety Management (PSM) for the site and beyond, as required. PSM duties will include substance and asset registry management, Hazard Study management, change management documentation and incident analysis & classification.
• Serve as the interface between the site and Technology Group.
• Direct the process engineering activities, keeping the targeted quality / yield parameters under control by auditing production activities periodically, or by requirement of the Site Manager.
• Provide technical support pursuant to a safe and proprietor-approved introduction of new products, coordinating the participation of the Technical Development Managers of the corresponding business unit, as needed.
• Manage the technical documentation associated with plant process optimization projects, raw material trials and other pertinent training records. Utilize tools, like Enablon, towards this effort.
• Participate in the activities of the Management Review of the Quality Assurance System
• Keep updated records and ISO compliant filings of technical information for raw materials, products and processes.  
• Understand and help implement the site’s Operating Policy, and HSSE goals and objectives.
• Support and participate in on-going HSSE improvement activities and committees.
• Be aware of potential health, safety, security and environmental impacts in area of responsibility and the consequences if an upset occurs.
• Understand and implement any parts of the Environmental Compliance Plan and Waste Management Plan that apply to area of responsibility.
• If deemed necessary, will be trained and designated as Hazard Study Leader.
• Understand and help implement the site’s Quality Policy, Quality goals and objectives, and the Quality Improvement Process (MTQ).
• Be fully aware of your specific quality assurance responsibilities.
• Be familiar with sitewide document control, internal quality audits, corrective action, non-conforming product and record keeping procedures.
• Be sure employees under supervision, if applicable, are aware of and are adequately trained in quality procedures.
• Other duties and assignments as directed by Site Manager.

We believe you bring

• B.S. in Engineering or related field (chemical engineering preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in engineering, plant operations, or technical field 
• Experience w/SAP
• Understanding of ISO-9001 & RC 14001standards
• Experience working within a PSM-RMP covered site (5+ years) preferred
• People leader experience (3+ years) preferred
• Experience as PHA leader preferred
• CAPEX management preferred
• Continuous improvement experience preferred 
• Experience with Enablon preferred
• Experience with EPI-MES preferred 
• Ability to read/write in English; Ability to read/write in Swedish is a plus
• Must be able to lift approximately 25 lbs, work in a plant environment, and must be able to wear necessary PPE such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat & respirator as needed
