About the job:

 

As a Reliability Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our production team by improving equipment reliability and ensuring smooth operations at our Houston (Almeda), TX site. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll focus on optimizing mechanical equipment, overseeing preventive maintenance, and keeping our OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) program up to date. If you’re passionate about minimizing downtime and boosting operational efficiency, this role is a great fit!

 

 

In your future role as a Reliability Engineer you will:

 

  • Equipment Optimization: Recommend and implement improvements to mechanical equipment to boost operability, reduce downtime, and enhance throughput.

  • Maintenance Initiatives: Develop and carry out preventive and predictive maintenance activities to keep our systems running smoothly.

  • Project Development: Plan and justify upgrades for equipment and processes; submit proposals to plant and group management.

  • Technical Support: Investigate equipment issues, size pumps, upgrade systems, and install new equipment as needed.

  • OSHA Compliance: Maintain PSM Mechanical Integrity program and ensure equipment inspections are up to date.

  • Health, Safety & Environmental Support: Participate in HSSE programs and stay aware of potential impacts in your area of responsibility, including compliance with site-specific policies and environmental plans.

  • Quality Assurance: Understand and support the site’s quality policies, oversee corrective actions, and ensure team members are trained on quality procedures.

  • Additional Duties: Take on other assignments as directed by your manager.

 

 

We believe you bring:

 

  • Education & Experience: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years of experience in a chemical plant or similar environment.

  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

  • Technical Skills: Experience with CMMS and SAP is a plus; exposure to instrumentation and electrical systems is a bonus.

  • Physical Abilities: Able to work in plant environments, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and in hot outdoor conditions. Respirator fit is required.

  • Availability: Flexibility to assist as needed after hours.

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Maintenance Manager in Houston, TX (Almeda site).
