Scientist 


The Scientist will aim to advance our research initiatives in the Oilfield sectors in line with the RD&I strategy, project and RD&I functional standards. The successful candidate will be crafting and executing comprehensive research protocols to explore innovative developments within the industry, continuously refine our research techniques, and diligently analyze experimental outcomes to uncover valuable insights to drive the progression of both innovative and development-focused projects.

In your future role as Oilfield Scientist, you will 

  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment, comply with safety policies and procedures. Follow safe work practices for personal equipment safety, in both laboratory and in the field. End results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a clean, orderly working environment 
  • Provide technical insight into project feasibility, providing technical support in the way of experimental work 
  • Take the lead role on a specific project and on multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Ensure the right level of support is provided based on the size of an opportunity and the urgency of the request
  • Define and execute the lab work including customer visits, publications, and presentation at conferences. 
  • Key responsibilities include translating customer and market needs into new oilfield products, initiating and managing longer term projects, providing technical insight into project feasibility, providing technical support via experimental work and supporting the sales organization and our customers with technical services 


We believe you bring

  • PhD or master’s degree in chemical engineering, oilfield, or similar discipline 
  • 3 - 7+ years’ experience in R&D 
  • Experience with application and product development
  • Project management skills 
  • Knowledge of oilfield chemistry and applications 
  • Understanding of various techniques, methodologies & tools
  • Ability to develop & implement new solutions
  • Ability to innovate & improve processes
  • Strong written & technical communication skills
  • Ability to collect & analyze data
  • Ability to keep up to date on current trends
  • Experimental design skills; Design of Experiment (DOE) experience preferred
  • Analytical, critical thinking & interpersonal skills
  • Ability to translate customer needs 
  • Ability to analyze impacts & decision risks
  • Ability to apply IP knowledge 
  • Product knowledge preferred
