Head of Financial Consolidation


The Head of Global Consolidation and Finance Systems will be responsible for the global financial consolidation activities of the Company’s 100 plus entities in the Company’s enterprise planning and management system (SAP Group Reporting) as well as the management of certain other global Finance owned systems. This position will report to the Assistant Corporate Controller. This role will be responsible for the oversight, training, and development of a team of 3. The role will also work closely with the External Reporting and Technical Accounting team, regional accounting centers and FP&A during the month-end close processes. This role will be a key contact in cross departmental and global finance coordination efforts and will be a go-to Corporate Finance senior leader for the global controllership group.

In your future role as Head of Financial Consolidation, you will 

  • Oversee the global consolidation process, including monthly consolidation of actuals and periodic consolidation of forecast and budget financial information. 
  • Ensure timely and complete submissions of monthly trial balances from 100+ global subsidiaries as well as various other ad hoc and recurring supplemental data submissions. 
  • Ensure complete and accurate financial data in the consolidation process, including intercompany eliminations. 
  • Review and approve consolidation journal entries ensuring completeness of data and accuracy of information used. 
  • Review and approve certain consolidated account reconciliations. 
  • Leveraging complete and accurate consolidated financial data, support the generation and distribution of internal reporting packages to leaders and executives with a focus on using the Company’s EPM and other reporting systems to develop automation into standardized, globally consistent internal reporting throughout the Company. 
  • Work in collaboration with the External Reporting and Technical Accounting team, as well as regional accounting centers, in supporting all quarterly and annual external reporting requirements, specifically as it relates to the completeness and accuracy of all underlying consolidated financial results. 
  • Understand the existing global financial consolidation process and drive continuous improvement and enhancements as necessary to support a standardized global financial consolidation process. 
  • Own SAP Group Reporting (the Company’s EPM), including serving as one of the key power users and experts, administrators and serve as the point of contact. Provide support to users as needed and own the entire system development life cycle of the financial system. 
  • Consistently identify, propose, and implement process efficiencies and improvements throughout the team and Corporate Finance organization. 
  • Assist in ad-hoc request as needed in coordination with other finance departments such as FP&A, Treasury and Tax functions as well as being a key contact and partner with the global finance organization. 
  • Work to achieve goals while overcoming obstacles and/or planning for contingencies. 
  • Assess talent, recruit key individuals to address any skill gaps, motivate and develop professionals on the team, and develop a retention plan for top talent
  • Be a proven manager and motivator of people and teams with a track record of recruiting and developing high-potential people and setting high standards for personnel across a performance-driven culture. 
  • Establish a proven track record of successfully working with the Global Controller, CFO and all Finance senior leaders, build trusting and effective relationships with leaders across the enterprise. 
  • Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting, including the effective design and operations of internal controls. 
  • Motivate a team to achieve short- and long-range business objectives and actively participate in the team’s professional development. 


We believe you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting or related field and a minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience showing progression in areas of responsibilities. 
  • Previous supervisory experience. 
  • Experience in financial consolidations required and experience with financial systems administration and maintenance preferred. 
  • Experienced in accounting and SEC reporting – IFRS and US GAAP
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). 
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated success building and leading high-performance teams. Ability to be hands-on and scale infrastructure through growth. Strong leader capable of driving activities and results of team members and cross functional business partners at remote locations. 
  • Drives Continuous Improvement: Strong track record of achievement in complex, fast-paced business environments. Experience driving process improvements and system upgrades to scale with the growth and evolving complexity of the business. 
  • Business Acumen: Proven track record of successfully building effective relationships with leaders across the enterprise. The ability to play the business partner/advisor role for the organization. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and detail-orientation. 
  • Communication/ Presence: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information across a wide audience. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management. 
  • Pace and Complexity: Ability to work independently in a complex, fast-paced environment. Meets deadlines, multi-tasks efficiently and manages individuals effectively. 

Good to Have

  • Experience working for a public, multi-national organization
  • CPA / RA
  • SAP ECC and SAP Group Reporting experience a plus 
  • Experience working in or with external reporting or FP&A and management reporting
