About the Job:

As a Solution Architect – SAP PP & MM, you will play a key role in translating business needs into scalable SAP solutions. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP processes within the Production Planning (PP) and Materials Management (MM) modules while ensuring alignment with overall IT architecture. This role requires a proactive, problem-solving mindset, as you'll work in an environment where not everything will be explained step by step. You’ll collaborate with business and IT stakeholders, contribute to major projects, and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, technology, and system integration.

In your future role as Solution Architect – SAP PP & MM, you will:

• Support demand management, translating business needs into project charters and detailed requirements in line with the IPM project methodology.
• Define and communicate the roadmap for applications within your scope.
• Translate business requirements into SAP solutions and ensure alignment with technical architecture, policies, budgets, and operational needs.
• Assess change requests (CRs) by reviewing impact analyses and solution directions from application management.
• Lead major change requests and SAP projects, including designing, building, and implementing solutions.
• Ensure quality and consistency of SAP template designs for deployments.
• Maintain up-to-date IM documentation and the CMDB for business processes and applications.
• Support testing and training activities for change requests and projects.
• Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to evaluate their potential impact on the organization.
• Participate in and contribute to Change Advisory Boards and Portfolio Boards.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in both business processes and IT services.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with external vendors, consultants, and support teams.

We believe you bring:

Language Requirements:

• Fluent in English (written and spoken) – required.

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Background & Experience:

• A strong background in IT consulting, IT architecture, business consulting, or an IT-driven business role.
• 10+ years of experience in IT, including 5+ years working with SAP PPPI, QM, MM, and LE.
• Hands-on experience with MRP and Detailed Scheduling.
• Experience working with MES and LIMS systems.
• Expertise in systems integration (EDI, API, RFC, XI, Web Services).
• Bonus points for experience in SAP SD or PM.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and Microsoft Azure is a plus.
• Strong experience in SAP ECC implementations, with knowledge of SAP configuration (SPRO), ALE, LSMW (or other data tools), SAP Script/Smartforms, and basic programming or ability to read code.
• Broad knowledge of architecture, technology platforms, and business domains, particularly in Integrated Supply Chain and cross-functional system integration.
• Ability to quickly grasp new trends and technologies, particularly in the SAP ecosystem.
• Knowledge of the chemical, manufacturing, or process industry.
• Experience with IT change management processes.

• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working in global environments, understanding and adapting to regional differences.
• Skilled in prioritizing multiple tasks, managing expectations, and providing timely updates to stakeholders.

Additional details:

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to our Functional Information Manager based in the Netherlands.
