About the job

The raw material markets are changing and evolving rapidly nowadays, which brings a lot of challenges but also exciting opportunities. Your main challenge will be to facilitate the Direct Procurement EMEA team to secure the best possible position for Nouryon in these markets. You will be working in an international procurement team with 5 other colleagues, based in the Netherlands. You will be reporting to the regional team lead, also based in the Netherlands.

In your future role as Category Specialist you will

• You are responsible to coordinate the e-tendering cycles to source a broad scope of raw materials for several of our production locations in Europe, as well as sourcing a limited number of packaging materials for that same region.
• You participate in and contribute to Procurement improvement projects across the function, working together with senior Direct Procurement EMEA stakeholders, and other internal functions.
• You actively engage with key stakeholders from within the Direct Procurement EMEA team to gather business requirements, to optimally facilitate Nouryon ensuring raw material supply.
• You pro-actively work on improving the raw material portfolios’ analytics and reporting, in areas such as sustainability, supply security or risk mitigation.

We believe you bring

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, Business Administration or Science.
• At least 2 years working experience in a commercial business role (e.g. procurement, sales or planning) or a commercial analyst or project manager role.
• The ability to communicate professionally with people at multiple levels of the organization on a global level.
• The ability able to run projects independently.
• Fluency in English, both verbal as well as in writing.

Great if you have

• Affinity with Excel and procurement systems such as SAP and Ariba.

• Pro-active and enjoy and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
• Possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner across multiple layers of the Direct Procurement organization.
• Highly numerate with great analytical skills.

We offer you

You will have the chance to work with various stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Amongst them is a mature procurement team, senior management teams and several site functions, and of course also suppliers all over Europe or in other regions. Our employment package comprises:

• A permanent contract with a probationary period of 2 months.
• A gross basic annual salary including holiday allowance based on your knowledge and experience between EUR 67.908 and EUR 75.000.
• 25 vacation days + 10 leave days
• An end-of-year bonus.

Good to know

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, based in Amsterdam. You will be reporting to the Regional Procurement Manager who is also based in Amsterdam.
