Maintenance Mechanical Technician

In your future role as Maintenance Mechanical Technician you will 

 
Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out all aspects of activities related to the maintenance of production equipment, buildings, and other plant facilities. Perform preventive maintenance and complete emergency repairs or other assigned tasks.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner. Apply prescribed safety measures, and correct and report any potentially hazardous situations without delay.
  • Make equipment adjustments as instructed by the supervisor. Assess potential causes of defects and damage; report findings. Maintain quality and safety standards during all repairs. Report abnormalities and implement emergency measures when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the production department, engineers, and technicians to identify and resolve technical problems, prevent equipment failures, and minimize the cost of unplanned shutdowns.
  • Ensure maintenance and good order of equipment used during operations.
  • Communicate daily activity highlights to the supervisor, including advice and recommendations concerning plant rules, quality, quantity, cost, environmental protection, worksite cleanliness, and work methods.
  • Participate in meetings with the supervisor and plant management. Share suggestions to improve maintenance procedures, safety, working conditions, and work methods.
  • Specific duties include working in the following areas:
    • Primary:
      • Tig, Mig, Stick Welding - Carbon Steel, Stainless, Titanium and some MonelWelding/fabrication
      • Fiberglassing
      • Piping layout/installation
      • Preventive maintenance
      • General labor
      • Millwright
  • Collaborate with the maintenance supervisor to complete purchase requisitions for parts, secure them in the planning trailer, and tag them with the corresponding work order number.
  • Work with the maintenance supervisor to schedule work orders in accordance with production needs. Ensure timely return of completed work orders.
  • Assist the maintenance supervisor in job planning, including material and manpower allocation. Report any unforeseen safety issues to the supervisor and colleagues.
  • Oversee shop clean-up efforts as needed.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required, including those outside of regular working hours.
  • Maintain a positive and professional work environment, supporting effective communication and management objectives.
  • Provide on-call coverage as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Be available for overtime as needed to support plant operations.

  • Work in compliance with the corporate and plant SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) system guidelines and procedures.

  • Follow the corporate and plant quality system guidelines and procedures.

 

 

We believe you bring  

 
Education and/or Experience

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Three years of related experience and/or training in the area of primary specific responsibility
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable

 

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

 

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

 

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid Washington Driver’s License

 

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to operate and use personal computers
  • Proficiency with authorized company software programs, including:
    • Email
    • Time card entry
    • Work order generation
    • E-track

Compensation Information

 

The hiring salary range for this position ranges from $73,000 to $94,600, although individuals may eventually progress through the pay scale in this role up to $105,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role as well as the individuals’ qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications. 

Employees (and their families) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are also eligible to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive paid time off and the mandated company holidays throughout the calendar year.
