Our AkuPure™ electrode and separator binding solution is an ultra-pure carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) tailored for the stringent requirements of battery cell manufacturers. This is particularly suited for lithium-ion batteries such as those used in electric vehicles.
In lithium-ion battery applications, the fundamental properties of our CMC provide binder and separator reinforcement capabilities to optimize electrode aqueous binder system performance. It also acts as a slurry coating to reinforce the separator between the anode and cathode. This improves the electrode coating process which contributes to the ability of a battery to retain and deliver power more effectively, enabling more optimal performance.
